Details
It is suggested that one has to start a Golden Triangle tour early in the morning from Delhi. The first place to visit in the city of Delhi is Qutub Minar which is one of the many ancient structures presenting the dominance of Delhi Sultans. Next, visit the Qutub Minar complex, then the India Gate, which is the war memorial of Indian soldiers, and then you can take a drive past the Parliament House and Rashtrapati Bhavan to enjoy the political essence of India.
After the above brief sightseeing of Delhi proceed towards Agra, which will take approximately 3-4 hours – by road by traveling through Yamuna Expressway. Taj city of India “Agra” is noted for its Mughal culture. As soon as you get to Agra, check in the hotel and relax for a while. The first stop will be the monument of love, the Taj Mahal and as one of the seven wonders of the world. Visit the imposing white marble tomb visiting the engraving details in the building and the beautiful landscapes.
The next place you will visit is the Agra Fort which is a huge red structured fort with the construction of red sandstone. The fort itself is a magnificent piece of architecture and gives an idea of the rich lifestyle that the Mughals used to lead; besides, one can get a very good look at the Taj from the fort. End your day with a visit to the Mehtab Bagh and enjoy the sight of the setting sun over the Taj Mahal reflected on the Yamuna River. Overnight stay in Agra.
On the second day, you will leave for Jaipur early in the morning which will take about a 4-5 hour drive by car. Jaipur, the pink city is rich in its royal history, folk art and monuments. Once you arrive in Jaipur, check in the hotel and relax. Starting with sightseeing now, the first stop will be Amber Fort which is a magnificent fort that all tourists need to visit when in Jaipur since it is strategically located on a hill near the Maota Lake. Take a tour in the beautiful yards, rooms and royal castles that are well designed in the fort. Most of the places are adorned with wonderful art and workmanship, however the Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace) as well as the Diwan-i-Aam are particularly outstanding.
Next, visit the City Palace which is situated in the center of the city. There is a museum which showcases the royal costumes, art and painting and other articles giving a peek into the history of the Royals of Jaipur. Following the same, then there is the Jantar Mantar for your visit which is right next to the City Palace and it too is a major tourist attraction and the world’s largest stone sundial.
Next, proceed to Hawa Mahal which is built in pink sandstone and built with numerous small windows. This is done so that the royal women could watch the festoons of the street while the menfolk did not get a glimpse of them. Make a short shopping spree at the markets of Jaipur or purchase Rajasthani dolls, pottery, jewelry or colorful fabrics at the special stores. The last destination in the tour is Delhi from where it will take about 5-6 hours to reach back. Reach Delhi in the evening concluding your short Golden Triangle tour.
